Pastor
Tony Godlefski has been the senior minister of the Montgomery United Methodist Church in Belle Mead, NJ, since 1998.
Previously, he served the Piscataway Christ UMC for 16 years, and the Roselle UMC for 4 years before that. He was born in Linden, NJ in 1951, and grew up in the
Roman Catholic Church. He chose to become a United Methodist at age 18. At his Pastor's request, he delivered the sermon
the day he was received into membership. A dear woman in the congregation invited him to think about the United Methodist
ministry - and the rest, as they say, is history. Pastor Tony holds a degree in music from the Westminster Choir College in Princeton (1973), and has
had a parallel love for music along with his love of ministry. His love for art, architecture, and worship led to the
construction of the new sanctuary and fellowship hall at Piscataway, and pipe organ and stained glass projects there and in
Belle Mead. His Master's
and Doctoral degrees are in Divinity and Ministry, from Drew University in Madison, NJ. His mentors have included Robert
H. Schuller and Norman Vincent Peale. His
preaching is decidedly positive. His desire is to bless and help people. Pastor Tony's hope is that people will
come away from a church service feeling more fulfilled and centered spiritually, and generally better than they felt before
they came in. His hope is to introduce people to the joy and fulfillment of knowing Jesus Christ as personal Savior and heavenly
Friend.
Pastor Tony wants people to know that God loves them.
